Description
- Seismic retrofit, structural repair, and remodel of Buildings 4, 7, 10, 20, 23, 25 and 99 on the campus
- Concrete and masonry buildings
- Moderate to severe damage in the 1994 Northridge Earthquake
Scope
- Provided full structural engineering and construction administration services
Achievements
- Performed a nonlinear analysis with FEMA 273 to validate the in-plane adequacy of the existing masonry walls in the wings of Building 99
- Designed strengthening of Buildings 4 and 10 to the essential facility level, with the performance objective of remaining operational after a major level earthquake
- Total construction costs were in excess of $25 M
